Back in Snowy Salt Lake

Well, it's good to be back to all our own stuff but we sure miss being in Denmark and Germany and being right around family. Everybody was so nice to us and really spoiled us.
The first couple of days the kids pulled all their toys out and played like crazy....They pulled out new toys faster than I could clean them up. I finally just gave up. So for a couple of days we just had toys EVERYWHERE.
So we came back to cold Utah and there was snow everywhere. The next day Ben went out to shovel snow and the kids were loving playing in it.

We had so many car troubles after coming back but now it looks like they are doing a little bit better. (cross your fingers for us) I scraped all the snow off Ben's car before work one morning but it was snowing pretty hard while i did it so I don't know how much it helped.
So it finally got a little warmer and the snow melted off the walkway and starting to melt off the grass. But then another snow storm hit and we got a ton of new snow.....

At Chicago Airport

So we finally had to go back to Utah. We had a 9 hour flight from Frankfurt to Chicago. The took off from Frankfurt at about 1 pm, so right around Ty's naptime. But....Ty doesn't sleep anywhere besides his bed or stroller or carseat and since none of those were on the plane, Ty figured that we would just not take a nap.....nice!!! He finally fell asleep around 7:30pm. Since his bedtime is 8pm and he hadn't taken a nap, silly me thought that he would be sleeping for a while.....he slept for about 1 hour and was wired. We landed in Chicago at 10:00pm and both kids were so tired that they wired. We had to wait 5 1/2 hours in Chicago even though they had an earlier flight to SLC, but they wouldn't change our tickets. Ty finally fell asleep about one hour before we boarded the next flight to SLC. He slept for a while and then woke up and just screamed for 1 1/2 hours. I was so tired that I was ready to throw him out the window (I guess it's lucky you can't open the windows on the airplane.) he finally calmed down and was okay for the last 45 minutes. Aaaaah what a trip.

Ty was listening to my Ipod in the airport and started dancing. He has never danced like this before so we thought it was pretty funny. When I started dancing he started hitting me. I guess he's the only one who was allowed to dance.

Last Pictures from Germany

So we have been home for about 3 weeks now and I'm just finally posting the last pictures from Germany. We didn't have very many pictures in the camera so I didn't get them uploaded for a while. Anyway, here are the last ones. This first one is Laney and Mormor making pizza.
The kids had so much fun playing instruments and singing with Zak and Mormor.

We went into Frankfurt on day and the kids shared a happy meal at McDonald's. The toy in the meal was a twister game. So we played it when we came back to my parent's house.


Laney was really good at it and Ty tried really hard but his little legs just weren't long enough. They had a lot of fun though.

Christmas in Frankfurt, 2007

Well, we haven't posted anything in a while, and we feel like it's a valid excuse! After leaving Copenhagen to return to Frankfurt for Christmas and New Years, we all got sick-Ben, Nadja, Laney, Ty, Nadja's parents and her brother. We ended up delaying celebrating Christmas for a day so we could all recuperate. Nadja's sister's family also came down from Denmark to celebrate, as well as her Aunt Pia. So after delaying the festivities, and getting through the rush of all the holidays, here's a post to try and get back on track:
Nadja's Christmas traditions are to have a nice dinner on the 24th, to sing and dance around the Christmas tree, run around the house holding hands singing "Nu Er Det Jul Igen", then opening Christmas presents. It was fun to celebrate with them, and have Laney old enough to actively participate. Because we were all sick, we postponed it to the evening of the 25th.
Nadja's family treated us so well-They've spoiled us throughout this whole stay. There's a slideshow of Christmas, of some site seeing on the trip from Denmark to Germany, and a slideshow of a few things we did before leaving Copenhagen. Sorry for the slideshows, but it makes it easier to post in this fashion.

Laney was quite nervous to ride "Ferdinand" the pony, but after making up a song about him (Ferdinand the white maned pony, had a very shiny mane......to the tune of Rudolph) she had fun with it. We couldn't call it a horse though, that was too scary. It had to be called a "pony"
