Frederiksborg Castle-amazingly gorgeous!

Nadja and her Grandma walking through town toward the castle.

Getting to the castle perimeter.

Approaching the castle gates and entrance.

In the inner courtyard.

Checking out he statues and inner courtyard.

The front of the castle going into the museum inside.

King Christian IV built this castle in the late 1500's, early 1600's, and this is some of his fine silver and nice tapestries on his wall.

More tapestries.

The fam in the giant ballroom, covered with amazing portraits, intricate carvings all over, and just amazing history all around.

The church inside the castle, also with many great artworks of Christ, the apostles, etc. One room in here has Carl Bloch's works throughout (you'd recognize them because the church uses them throughout the temples and ward houses)

Leaving the interior of the castle to walk around to the gardens behind.

Walking around the side of the castle, and over part of the moat to the gardens behind. It was really windy, blowing leaves all over (check out Laney's flinching!)

More pics of the awesome walking path around the castle and over the moat.

Entrance to the gardens. I guess in the summertime there are roses spread throughout.

In the first set of gardens. The gardens go on to several lakes, forests, etc. but we were all getting cold and tired from all the walking, (plus the batteries on the camera died)

The gorgeous view of the first set of gardens, the lake/moat, and the castle. (Can you see a crown shape in the bushes below?) This is my favorite spot thus far. Simply amazing!

Fredensborg Palace, home of the Crown Prince of Denmark

Here's the main palace.
Nadja's Grandma went for a little hike with us around the palace.
The distant lake through the forest.

Family photo from the grounds in the back of the palace.
They had gorgeous walk-ways down to the lake.
Laney and Ty kept holding hands on the walk. Cute kids.

Kronborg Castle, setting for Shakespear's "Hamlet"

Nadja in front of Kronborg. It was windy and cold up here. The kids were asleep in Nadja's Grandma's car, so Ben and Nadja made a quick dash into the castle/grounds for some pics.
Ben in front of the castle. A woman is starting to walk right in front of the picture, and Ben's looking at her thinking, "Do you see us posing here woman?"

The wind was blowing very hard, and the waves were crashing in, leaping their bounds! In the distance is Sweden, thus this castle protected Denmark from the Swedes.
Ben with Sweden in the background

Nadja-baby posing with Sweden across the water
The inner courtyard.
Looking up at the castle from the beach.
Kronborg from a distance.

Beginning of trip to Europe

Here we are in the airport preparing to fly over to Germany. Ben has a 6-week rotation for school in Copenhagen with Novo Nordisk and then we will spend another five weeks with Nadja's family in Frankfurt for Christmas and New Years.
Laney is a natural traveler, carrying her own backpack, and helping pull Ty's. What a cutie!
Two cute girls in the airport!
Laney and Ty playing with their cousins Erin and Joshua in Denmark
A short walk from our apartment in Denmark leads us through the forest to a huge castle.
Laney took this picture of us on the castle grounds-pretty good for a 3-year old!
Laney was posing for a picture when Ty jumped out of the stroller, ran over next to her, held her hand, and said "EEEEEEEE" (meaning "CHEEEEEESE")

The Charlottenlund Castle just a short walk from our apartment.
The ocean on the other side of the castle.
It surely is pretty walking from our apartment to the beach-the forest is fantastic, and the colorful leaves are gorgeous!
The kids enjoying a Danish favorite-flodeboller!

Some Sunday morning dancing before Church.

What's Laney and Wesley doing in the bathroom?
Washing Shannon's mirror and talking to their own reflections.
Ty's watering the flowers, his pants, and his shoes.

Kitty sneaks in and sleeps in Laney's bed whenever she can. She loves that Laney girl.
Ty and Laney were in the tub and Ty wanted out. So I took him out and set him on the couch wrapped up in his towel and a blanket. Laney was still in the tub so I was keeping an eye on her. When I went in to check on Ty, he was asleep. Then Laney wanted out and I wrapped her in her towel and a blanket. Then I went to make a call and when I came back 5 minutes later, she was asleep too.

I had to work on my birthday but Ben and the kids came to Ikea and had lunch with me and then when I came home we had birthday cake and ice cream and Ben and Laney sang to me.
Ty's reading a book on the floor.

This is the face that Ty makes when we try to take a picture of him. I don't know if he thinks he is smiling or what but it looks really funny. In this one he's drinking a fruit smoothie.
Laney said to Ty, "Let's skaal (cheers) our mustaches." and then they kissed. It was cute.
Handsome boy.
Ty eating an egg. Notice the salt saker in his other hand. Nothing comes out because it gets so slimy.

Eating Oreos.
He saw Laney dipping her oreos in the milk so he wanted to too. Now he dips everything in his drink......The other day he was eating hot dogs and dipping them in his juice.....yummy!!!
The pro shows her brother how it's done.

Ty dipping his Oreo in the milk. Notice how he doesn't get part that he dipped in his mouth and how he sucks all the milk out of the oreo instead of just taking a bite.
