Rosenborg Castle

This is Rosenborg Castle, situated in the middle of Copenhagen with a beautiful garden around it - called The King's Garden. It was built in 1606 by King Christian the 4th. The castle does not have electric power because of the fire danger. So the castle is only open during hours when it's light enough outside.
In the basement of the castle is the treasury where the crown jewels are and also lots of really pretty things that the royalties have received as presents during the years. This is a ship made out of ivory. Most of the things were made out of ivory, amber and crystal.

Some of the crown jewels. In the basement they had a sound alarm so they told us that if Ty got too loud we would have to take him out or else the alarm would go off and that it takes 2 hours to reset it. Needless to say, I was quite paranoid that Ty would set if off so he and I went outside when he started getting a little vocal.
Hmmm, I don't remember all the details of these crowns but some of the big jewels are taken from another crown that was a lot older.
Oldemor and Laney
So, Ty and I went outside where they had some pigs that Ty thought was the most wonderful thing he had ever seen.
The pigs would just stand right in front of him and eat and Ty would just laugh.
We had a hard time getting him away from the pigs. He could have stood there all day, just studying the pigs.

Ha ha ha...boys! Give 'em a big, stinky animal, and they're entertained for hours! That castle is amazing, and I love all the jewels. Thanks for always sharing your great pics with us and letting us feel like we're right there with you!
