Little Cottonwood Canyon

Saturday we decided to go for a little drive up the canyon. We went for a short hike up to a waterfall.

Father and son looking at the waterfall. It was bright and we were getting a little water in our eyes from the fall - that's why Ty is looking funny.
Afterwards, we went down to temple quarry to eat our lunch.
We saw this tool that was stuck in the granite from the pioneers. Laney and I tried to pull it out, but it was VERY stuck.
We sat right by the river and ate our lunch. We sat under some trees and it was so nice and cool by the river. It's so amazing to see hoe much water comes down from the mountains. This was where I had my bridal pictures taken and there was no water when we took them. Amazing.
The kids had a lot of fun throwing rocks and branches in the water. When we were eating our lunch (medbragte klemmer) we saw some people who were getting married right above us. There is a little platform where you can walk out onto, and we had walked under it and sat by the river. And these people where getting married on that little platform. I tried to take a picture 'cause i thought it was pretty funny we sat there under them but the picture didn't turn out very good.

Primary Parade and Drive-In

The primary in our ward had a parade on the first day of summer, which over here in Utah was on Friday the 20th of June. So after Ben got home from work we walked over the church and decorated Laney's bike and Ty's stroller and had hotdogs.

Ty got a little noise maker to blow in and he did the whole time.
Here's our little parade. It was pretty fun. Some of the ward members sat outside and waved to us, other than that we just walked around and thought we were pretty cool.
On the walk on the way home, we tried to hit all the sprinklers 'cause it was so hot outside. Ty loved this one and Ben got him to run right through it. He loved it.

After we came home from the parade we went to the drive-in to see "Kung-Fu Panda", which is really cute and funny, and the new "Indiana Jones", which is not that good...sigh!!
Ty waiting for the movie to start. Ben said that he thinks we picked the longest day of the year to go to the drive-in and wait for the movie to start.....Ty didn't really see any of the movies 'cause he fell asleep about 10 minutes after the first movie started.
Laney watched almost to the end of the "Kung-Fu Panda" and then she fell asleep too. But we had fun.

Photo Shoot

I bought this cute frame for Ben for Father's Day, which said "Daddy - A son's first hero. A daughter's first love." Anyway, so I needed a picture of the kids to put in the frame. I thought after church would be a great time, since they were already dressed up and the weather was great. Laney was all for it. Ty wanted food. And that is the reason there are lots of pictures of Laney and only one of Ty.

Laney wanted to make "scary faces" after we were done. This is her scary face!!! She wanted to take some pictures of Ben and I and our scary faces.....here's a little sample:

A Day In the Life....

Ty getting anxious and couldn't wait for the rest of the family to sit down and eat ice cream. He took matters into his own hands.....

Laney started a tumbling class. She has only gone once but this little trick is her greatest achievement. She asked me to do it too when we got home....and I'm proud to say that I can still do it....even if it took a couple of seconds to get myself hoisted all the way up.

Our Trip to St. George

We took a short trip to St. George over Memorial Day to visit Ben's parents, since we haven't been down to visit them for 2 years. We had so much fun hanging out with Ben's parents, Joel and Kally, Val and Kory, Karmen and Brian, and Keith and Tran and all of their families. It was great to relax, and Ben even got to go play a little golf.
We went down Friday afternoon and because of all the traffic it took us somthing like 2 hours just to get to Provo. So we stopped in Beaver to get gas and some dinner at the DQ. Our car worked like a dream all the way down to St. George. The next day we got up and started the car to go to Val's house and as soon as we shifted into reverse or drive, the car would die. NICE!!! So the men talked about and looked at it and put some transmission fluid in there and then it worked. The next day, Sunday - same thing happened. We then realized that if we let it warm up for about 15-20 min. it drive pretty good. To make a long story short - we got home okay, but the car still needs a while to warm up.
While we were there we rediscovered Ty's love for babies. Since Julie was the only baby there all of Ty's affection were directed towards her. He wanted to hold her all the time. At Val's house he was sitting with her on his lap, and had probably held her for about 5 minutes, when she started getting a little wiggly. So I took her from Ty. Ty started crying his little heart out and when I asked if he wanted to hold her again, he nodded with little tears streaming down his cute, pouty face. What a cute boy I got.

Ben the Pharmacist!!!

He studied for like 8 years.....he graduated....he took two ridiculous tests :)......he passed......HE IS A PHARMACIST!!! YAY!!! TIME TO CELEBRATE! Congratulations Ben! You deserve it, with all you hard work, endless studying and incredibly good grades :). Good job! You're awesome.

And now we can finally throw all the boxes out that are full of notes and papers from 4 years of Pharmacy School. YAY!!! That'll be my celebration.

The Zoo

So much stuff has been going on that I almost forgot to do a post about our trip to the Zoo. We had year membership that ended May 31st, so we had to go one last time.

One of the first exhibits that you at the zoo is the elephants. Ty LOVES elephants. If it wasn't because Laney and I got impatient after 10 minutes, he would still be standing there.

They were really close to the fence too and just eating away. It was pretty cool to see them so close.

The rhinos were right next to the elephants and they have these little windows you can look through and see them. Both rhinos were standing right next to the windows. Good day to go to the zoo i guess.

Of course, we had to see how long Laney and Ty's arms are. I swear their arms should be longer, 'cause they are little monkeys!!

When Ben comes with us, he always refuses to try to see how long his arms are.....He knows he's actually a gorilla.

Ty would climb out of his stroller when we got to a new animal. It was a little scary at times...

Laney is so happy 'cause she loves the giraffes and they were out that day. When she went with her Pre-school class they weren't and teachers wouldn't let the kids go inside the giraffe house to see them....which made Laney cry.

I had to put this picture on 'cause I thought this sloth was so cool. We were standing there looking at it, and suddenly out of the corner of my eye I saw something falling right next to Laney's face. So I looked down and I looked up, and there was a bird that pooped right above Laney and almost landed on her little noggin. Man, was I glad she was standing 1/2 inch further back than where the poop landed.
