We Live at Lowe's....

We have been to Lowe's so many times that we feel like it's our home away from home....
...hence we just play and climb and have fun when we are there. This is Ty being a sloth...
...and Laney as a sloth.

Random Cuties

Ty wanted to wash his hands in the kitchen sink, where there is not step stool instead of going in the bathroom....I wasn't fast enough in taking the picture though....moments before he was just hanging with his belly over the counter and using his little toes like suction cups on the cupboard underneath. He climbed all they way up there though, with no help at all. A monkey, I tell ya'!
Laney's little friend couldn't play on this particular day and then she saw one of the other little kids playing in the snow outside. So went out to play and a little later came back and asked if she could borrow the snow shovel. I kept asking her if she didn't want her coat zipped up but no she was just fine....

Zoolights

Last Monday for Family Home Evening, the Georges and our family went to the Zoo to see all the Christmas lights. It was FREEZING but really fun. We really liked the reptile house 'cause it was nice and warm.
We made pizza and took to Ben's work for dinner and then went to the Zoo and met up with the Georges. We bundled the kids up in extra sweaters, snow pants, jackets, scarfs, hats, gloves, and boots. When we were walking over to the entrance Laney said, "My face is the only thing that's cold..."
Luckily they had these little fire pole things where you could warm up....we used them a couple of times and we would hold up the kids to warm up their faces. When Ben was holding Laney up to the fire, she said, "Aaaaah, I could just stay here all day!" What a fun night. Thanks Georges!!

O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum...

We decided that we wanted a real christmas tree this year.....(jeg ved det, jeg ved det....hvorfor soren vil vi har et rigtig juletrae naar vi kunne faar et blaat, lyseroedt eller sort juletrae???) but we didn't know how to get it home.... So we went to Lowe's and found one that we loved and I kept asking Ben "but....how do we get it home?" So we tied it on the top of our handy dandy van and drove on the little back roads home. We had twine through the inside of the whole car and on the back the little Lowe's man and Ben decided that it was a great idea and very sturdy to tie it to the windshield wiper.....hmmmm. I told Ben when we got in the car, "you realize if we get in an accident that you will get scalped right?" So the whole drive home, we both sat kind of slouched down in our seats.....!!!

The finished result. The whole time Ben and I were putting it up, we kept saying "wow, this is really big". I don't think we realized when we bought it how big it exactly was....but we love it!!

Thanksgiving 2008

We had Thanksgiving with the Gibson's, Beckett's, Allen's, Gibson's (Joseph and Ashley) and us of course. We had a lot of fun. We had GREAT food and a "fun" volleyball game......(ben made me play...) Thanks for inviting us.

Laney and Ty decorating the table while waiting for the food.

Lots of chatting going on.

Waiting.....

Goofing....
Fake smiling....

Ty had so much fun playing with a basketball. He would run after it and then bend over to pick it up....except the ball hadn't stopped rolling yet.....it looked really funny.

The Memmotts

We were lucky enough to get to play with the Memmott kids Friday afternoon. We had so much fun and when Karissa started playing the computer, all the other kids pulled up chairs around the computer to watch her. Ty had the brilliant idea of eating popsicles (he has been wanting ice cream all the time lately....even though it's November...) and all the kids though it was a great idea.

The Gang

"W" was coming over to play and about 20 minutes before,"E" showed up and Laney didn't know if she couldn't play with more than one friend at a time....we talked about it and a couple of days later she was telling that it lots more fun to play with lots of friends at the same time. It's so nice to have little friends who live close by and come play. Both Laney and Ty have so much fun and it's nice for me too because it keeps them occupied so that I can get things done and not have to break up fights all the time.

Tough guy!

Smiley!

Ty playing with the big kids.

Too busy!

Now I Know My ABC's....

He's was helping me make something and was so cute just singing his little heart out. He always surprises me with the songs he knows.

Random Pictures from Last Week

We made and ate cookies last Sunday and made quite a mess....
The bookcase the fishtank was standing on collapsed right after Joy School (pre-school) was over and I ran over to catch the fishtank becasue I didn't want 10 gallons of water and fish all over the floor. The other mothers just kept chatting while I was sweating bullets trying to keep the bookcase level so that the tank wouldn't slide right off. Finally they left and I was still standing there holding on to the bookcase. I got it pushed back in some groove so that I could let go and hurry over and grab the kids little table and gently move the HEAVY fishtank over onto the table. Well, now it's lower and our cat quite likes it. She will stand there looking at the fish and try to catch them with her paws....it's quite entertaining.

We went to Disney on Ice and loved it.

Ty found a new position to sleep in. Last night he found yet another one....balancing on the edge of the bed. And another day this week I went in to check on him after he had fallen asleep and he was naked except for his underwear....funny little feller.
We painted the part of the basement we have finished and the kids helped.
We went to Jungle Jim's for one of the little girls in Laney's Joy School's birthday and I took this picture of Ty....
I couldn't decide if I like black and white or color better....

Who Does He Look Like?

So we were getting ready for church on Sunday and this is how Ben did Ty's hair. I found these old glasses 'cause Ty always wants to wear my glasses and we told him to put them on. Don't you think he looks like....

Lewis from "Meet the Robinson's"...
or this kid from "Jerry McGuire"?

Oh, the Weather Outside Is Frightful....

The night between Sunday and Monday is snowed a whole bunch and so when Laney woke up I told her to look outside. She looked and immediately wanted to go play in the snow. So at 7:30am she got all her snow clothes on and went outside and walked around in the snow for a while.

Ty wanted to put some snow in a glass jar so that he could keep it. I went and got some for him, thinking that it would be fun to see it melt. But both him and Laney kept eating it instead of letting it melt.
Here's the boy with his jar of snow. He was so funny, just carrying that jar all around him, looking at it, eating the snow....My uncle came over later and I wonder what he thought when he saw Ty carrying this jar-o-snow all around.

I told you this kid is accident prone. Now he doesn't just need a helmet, he needs a full body suit. Yesterday, he kept jumping on the couch and Ben kept telling him to stop 'cause he was going to get hurt....lo and behold, a few seconds later he fell and bonked his face on the armrest. He, of course started crying and his nose started bleeding. He kept telling us something that we couldn't understand. He tried to wiggle away from me, but his nose was bleeding so I kept holding him, all the while he kept saying this same word over and over.FINALLY we realized that he was saying band aid. But how the heck do you put a band aid on a kid whose nose is bleeding?? Like this, I guess. It helped anyway - he stopped crying and walked around with a band aid on his upper lip for a while.
Laney never wants band aids. She will bleed all over and still not want a band aid. We can't even look at her owie, she covers it up and screams bloody murder. When she goes to the Dr. in the summer to get shots, I either have to bring something to cover up her leg when we go home or have her wear long pants. It's so interesting how kids are so different.

Halloween

I thought I was so creative when I made some decorations for our table. So before I start writing about the pictures I wanted to tell you what Ty said on Halloween morning. So I was opening the bags of candy for the trick-or-treaters and putting them in bowls, when Ty sees me and said "I have one of those?" pointing to the candy. I told him that it was for the trick-or-treaters who would be coming that night. I was expecting screaming, crying, tantrums but Ty just said "Oh" and ran off. A few seconds later he comes running back with his trick-or-treating bucket, holds it out and with a really naughty smile on his face said "trick-or-treat". Of course, I had to give that cute boy a piece of candy.
We carved our pumpkins the day before Halloween. Laney wouldn't touch the insides of hers but Ty on the other hand didn't mind scooping everything out.

The finished result. Mine is the ghost, Ty's is the spider, Laney's is the cat (obviously they had help...) and Ben thought we needed one traditional face one.The "trick or treaters". Ben had to be dressed up for work so he decided to be a pirate. Laney is a princess barbie with an itchy wig and Ty is an elephant. First they went around in our little sub-division with Laney's bbf Emmy, then they went over to my aunt and uncle's sub-division. Every time they came to a house where they could hear a dog barking Laney and Emmy decided that they didn't need to go to that house.... :)
On the way home Ty told Ben he was tired and so Ben picked him up and by the time the crossed the street Ty was asleep.

Laney enjoying her loot.
