Waddle, Waddle, Waddle

This is what happens when we take Ty's pants off to change him or to change his clothes. He jumps up, pulls his shirt down over his knees and pretends he's a penguin.....waddle, waddle, waddle!!!

No More Diapers

Thaaat's right!!! Ty's is being potty trained and doing very well. We started last Monday night when I told him before bed, that this was the last diaper and he would have to wear underwear from now on. I told Ben to hurry up and remove the box of diapers in his closet.....So we go upstairs to go to bed and Ty walks in to our bedroom where he sees the box of diapers sitting on our bed!!! He comes running out to me and tells me, excitedly "Me lound more diapers!!" I know!!! I don't know how Ben completed Pharmacy School either....! ;-)
Anyway, Ty has been doing good telling us when he needs to go. We do have two problems though....he doesn't want to get in the bathtub anymore, because he's convinced he will start peeing when he gets in the water. And he gags every time he pees or poops. How weird is that?! This morning he sitting there peeing and he starts gagging like crazy. I thought he was going to throw up. Weird little kid. Hopefully he'll get over it.

*Sorry about the lovely subject of this post.....

Laney the Model

So you might know that I stalk a couple of photography blogs. Well, the other day one of them posted that they needed some models for a mentoring session. So I hurried and e-mailed the lady and asked if Laney could do it.
So last Monday we dropped Ty off at my sister-in-law Tiff's house (thanks again, Tiff) and then went into Salt Lake where Laney was a model for about 2 hours. At first when we drove there she was getting really nervous and didn't want to. But we talked about it and decided just to go look and we did. Laney totally calmed down and did so great. She was a natural. By the end of the session she knew what the photographers wanted and did it before they could even tell her to. What a girl. Anyway, if you want to see 2 of the pictures go to www.photosbyangie.blogspot.com
Scroll to the bottom of the latest post and there's my beautiful Laney girl.

Kyla

This is Ben's niece's little girl whom we babysat the other day. What a cutie!
She's the happiest baby I have met. Always smiling. She didn't cry a single time when we babysat her and she doesn't know us that well.
Look at those big brown eyes. She'll be 1 next month and a big sister in about 4 months. What a cutie pie.

Bonnie and Jordan's Wedding

Bonnie and my cousin Jordan got married on Sept. 4th, 2008. This is from the temple and some of the pictures are kind of blurry but i had to zoom in all the way 'cause I was standing a ways from them.
Here's when they first came out of the temple.
Laney thought Bonnie looked like a princess and at the luncheon Ty kept saying "Bonnie" and pointing to her....I had to remind him that she's a married woman now.
Ty at the temple.
Grandma and Grandpa Smith. Some of you may wonder how they are related to me....they are not. They are my aunt's parents but have always insisted on us calling them grandma and grandpa. And they have always very sweet to us and treated us as part of the family.
Becky showing Laney something.
Bonnie and her 5 sisters.
Bonnie and her 4 brothers.
Bonnie, Jordan and my mormor (mom's mom).
Bonnie, Jordan and his 2 sisters. Jamie, Jordan, Bonnie and Heidi. Heidi was the photographer at the wedding and she's amazing. The brace on her wrist is because her camera is so big and heavy....
Eugene Smith, Jordan, Bonnie, and Lucy Smith. Jordan's grandparents. After the temple we went to the luncheon where the Smith sisters had a feast prepared. The reception was at Bonnie's parents house, and it was huge. Their neighbor had 7 garages and Ben kept trying to peak in to see what he could be hiding in there. I think our house would have fit in there a couple of times. It was crazy. But a beautiful wedding.

Picnic in Millcreek Canyon

My grandma is here in Utah for a couple of weeks because my cousin is getting married. Her birthday was yesterday and so we went up in the mountains last Saturday to celebrate her birthday.
Ben, Laney, Ty and I went up a couple of hours early to get a good spot. While we waited for everybody else to come up we had fun playing in the stream and hiking a little bit.

Ben showing Ty the little waterfall.
The gorgeous view to the east...

...and the beautiful view to the west.

I was trying to take a picture of Ty and he kept either sticking his tongue out or biting his bottom lip....
Roasting hotdogs
Justin, Kennie, Grandma and Andrew.
Kennie showing my grandma how to use his camera phone.
Everybody chowing....Kennie, Grandma, Julie, Jordan, Justin, Ty, Laney and Bonnie.

Summer Tumbling

This summer Laney has been taking a tumbling class and she has absolutely loved it. She had so much fun and has learned so many things. I can't believe what 3 months has done to her skills. Her teacher is the Primary chorister and she had it in her backyard. On the last day, they had a little show for the last 20 minutes to show the parents what they had learned. I brought my camera, but it has issues and so I only got 2 pictures. Luckily the teacher had taken pictures of them and gave them to us.
Laney doing a cartwheel. This is my favorite because before the class she just did the little put-hands-on-ground-jump thing and now she's really good at them.
This is the beginning to learning how to do headstands. They call it "the stinkbug."
I think this is her walking-handstands.
Backbend....one of her favorites.
....and then they switch legs after this. After they had done their little presentation, they all got a diploma and the pictures. When the teacher called Laney up she said she was the most flexible in the class......she takes after her Mormor, I guess!!!

Pictures of the Chickens

I had to take some picture of the chillens so I thought I would share them with the world. This was actually the last picture we took and I had to bribe Ty to smile normally one last time and then I would let him pick a movie for us to watch.
The whole time I was making frog and chicken noises to get them to smile normally instead of Laney's closed-mouth-drunk-person smile and Ty's eyes-closed-huge-open-mouth smile.

Laney Jump-roping

I totally forgot to post this little video of Laney learning how to jump-rope. Please don't listen to my pathetic voice....and if anybody tells me that that is really what I sound like......I will dig a hole and bury myself.....or become a mute!!

"Twilight" Trivia

If you have read the 3 first books in the "Twilight" Saga, here's a link to try your hand at some trivia questions. Good luck!

Midnight Release Party for "Breaking Dawn"

Tiff (my sister-in-law) went to the midnight release partyat Barnes and Noble for "Breaking Dawn". The fourth book in the "Twilight" Saga by Stephenie Meyer.
This is what the line looked like when we got there around 8:15pm. 3 hours and 45 minutes before the book was released. I couldn't fit the whole line in there. But I would think there was about 40-50 people there.
After a while this is what the line looked like behind us.
Our wristbands that we got at the door. The "A" means that we were in the first line....YAY!!
Lots of games going on to take up time before midnight. There was also a scavenger hunt where everybody was running around in the whole store looking for stuff. Lots of fun.

At 11:30pm, we could all start going outside to line up, in the order that we came.
Walking towards the door, we saw the stacks of Breaking Dawn books inside. The funniest was when the people up ahead could see them taking the boxes of books out and started screaming. And when the doors opened and everybody screamed again. Fun, fun.
It was so cool to see so many people at a bookstore at midnight. And about 5 clerks working in double time to get everybody through.

And here's Tiff and I with our books. Tiff asked a lady working there if she could take a picture for us, but she just glared at us and didn't say anything, so Tiff hurried and asked another lady.

Days of '47 Parade

We wanted to go watch the Days of '47 Parade but you have to sleep out to get a good spot. So Ben casually suggested that Laney and he could sleep out on the road....I don't think he thought it through or maybe he was half joking....i don't know, but Laney heard him say it and was all for it. And since he had said it, he could take it back.
So Ben and Laney ended up out on the sidewalk on 9th south and 4th east.
Ben said they didn't get to sleep very much since there were a million cars driving by all night long. And the people in a tent next to them played loud music and had a visit from the police (I don't remember why...). But they had a fun daddy/daugther experience.
Laney playing games on Ben's Palm (little e-mail as Laney and Ty call it)
Ben bought a cool light sword for Laney that she loves and holds every night before she falls afsleep.
Then in the morning, Tiff picked Ty and me up and we brought some donuts, chocolate milk, water, grapes and other yummy stuff that we ate for breakfast.
Laney eating her donut.

Here's President Thomas S. Monson. He was turning his head the other the whole time he drove past us, so Laney didn't see him. Ben took Laney and the ran up ahead so that she could see him.
Governor Huntsman and his scary looking wife.

My favorite float - Noah's Ark. It was so cute, with water coming out of the elephant's trunks.
Ty wanted to be wrapped in a blanket for some strange reason....the rest of us were sweating bullets.
Tiff being stabbed by Laney. Braiden watching as this horrific event is taking place...
Laney and Ty playing on the blanket.
Laney and Braiden chillin' while the rest of us were packing our things up.
