And Then It Was Laney's Birthday...

Laney opening her presents. And this time we celebrated on the actual day - April 7th. The day after we celebrated Ty's.
Opening all her many presents. Thanks everybody for all the very nice presents and cards. What a spoiled girl.
Playing with the Snowwhite polly pocket Laney got from Mormor and Morfar.
Last year Laney had a Belle cake and this year she decided on a Cinderella cake. I stole Wendy's idea and put a little fondant pillow next to her with one of the glass slippers on.
This was right when Laney saw the cake for the first time. Tiff, Mike, Braiden, Havelah, Adam and little Kyla came over to celebrate with us and Tiff took some great pictures for us. Thanks Tiff and everybody for celebrating with us.
Laney blowing out the candle on the cupcakes. When we started eating cake and ice cream, cute little Braiden grabbed a cupcake. It was really cute. By the way, in the background you can see Ty bawling because he wanted to blow the candle out.
Laney and her birthday cake.
So we lit the candle again so Ty could blow it out.

Random Pictures

Here are some randon pictures that I wanted to post. The first one is because my mom and dad frequently ask Ben and me if Ben is studying because his Pharmacy test thing is coming up here in June and they just want to make sure that he will pass it, I think. So one night Ben was reading his books and looking stuff up on his computer and I looked at him and just started laughing 'cause he had so much stuff everywhere. So I took a picture of him to prove that he is indeed studying.
I was doing some work for my aunt and uncle and we had boxes everywhere. Both kids love boxes and put all their stuff in them and carry them around and so on....So these boxes of course was no different. Ty looked to tough and little because the box was so big. And it looked as if he was helping us move since we moved a couple of days later.
Since I took a picture of Ty, Laney of course wanted in on the fun. So here's our little mover #2.

Out of the Mouth of Babes...

My friend Regina did this on her blogspot and I thought it was really cute. So I decided to ask Laney the same questions and see what she said. Here's the result:

The only thing we have to fear is… dinosaurs if they eat us

What goes up…an elevator

A bird in the hand…then I’ll feed it

Many hands make…two

Only the strong...people that can carry a big ol’ chair

Lightening never strikes…if he sticks his tongue out

Pitter-patter of…marshmallows

Beggars can’t be… this big

Waste not…your food

I’m so hungry I could… eat some food and vegetables

Like a bat out of…a cage

There’s a sucker born… of a belly

Give me liberty or… a big orange

You say potato, I say… I will eat it and take a bit of it

Money is the root of…the bank

When in Romeyou run away and say “aaah.”

Early to bed…when it’s the nightime

Beauty is… so pretty

He’s treading on… a plate

Practice makes… a summersault

Haste makes… food

A chip off the old… pyramid

A penny saved is… a bank

When the cat’s away… then you call your kitty to come back

You can lead a horse to water but… it won’t come with you

My love is like…family

Ask not what your country can do for you, ask… a man that knows where you live

A watched pot… in a honey pot

Four score and seven years ago,… a little baby boy came out of your belly

Too many cooks… into a pan

If at first you don’t succeed… go upstairs and play Polly Pockets and then come downstairs and try again and I can do it

There’s no place like… a lamp

A chain is only as strong as… a doggie

Don’t cry over… when your little brother hits you

A fool and his money are… little

Two heads are better than… a pillow

A journey of a thousand miles… on a train

Look before you… take the phone

Always a bridesmaid never… cut themselves

Actions speak louder than… a radio

It’s like taking candy from… a girl

You can’t teach an old dog… with purple spots

If you can’t stand the heat…you can just stand on the floor

When it rains it… has thunderstorms

If you love something…then you can grow a sunflower

Half a loaf is better than… a balloon

Happy as a… people

The grass is always greener…than Ty’s blanket

Tie goes to the... playground

Make hay… when you’re milking a cow, so the cow can eat

Money doesn’t grow on… a plant

Two wrongs… belongs to a spot

Nip it in the…hay

Laugh and the world… goes to Radiator Springs

Ty's Belated Birthday

Ty's birthday is on March 28th, but since we were moving on that day we decided to postpone his birthday a couple of days. Anyway, Ty loves Lightning McQueen and Mack from the movie Cars, so I decided to try making them for his birthday cake. They turned out alright even though they are not as good as Wendy's and Val's.
Here's Ty opening his presents. Laney kept asking him which one she could open, so uncle Zak must have been inspired when he gave the kids a present that was for both of them that she could open. Thanks everybody for all the presents and cards - they were great.
Ty got a train set like the one Mormor and Morfar has in Germany. He loved it and played with it all during the first session of conference.
Ty concentrating on driving the trains.
I had to make a little road to put Ty's candle in. It took a couple of tries for him to blow it out.Ty decided that he wanted to eat the Lightning part of the cake...
...and Laney wanted to eat Mack's head.

Tyler enjoying his Lightning McQueen cake.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place....

The kids and I were out playing and I accidently kicked the soccer ball over the fence. On the other side of the fence is a field with nothing in it, so i ran into my uncle yard and through the hole in his fence and into the field to get the ball. I threw it back over the fence to our side. I saw Laney in our yard, but I couldn't see Ty. So I yelled to Laney and asked her where Ty was, and she gave me some vague reply. I had closed all the gates so I knew he had to be somewhere around. I ran back into our yard and started looking for Ty. I looked in the yard and then I ran inside to see if he was there. But he wasn't. When I came back out I saw him on the other side of the fence with one shoe in his hand and the other on his foot. I must have had a very puzzled look on my face, because I had no idea how he could have gotten over there. The fence is really high. So I told him to get back to the other side of the fence. He walked over to the very end of the fence...where the two fences meet and proceeded to squish his little body between the two fences....
until only his little (or big, i guess...) head was the only left on the 'wrong' side of the fence. Then he started whimpering and I helped him get out.
I think he must have seen Kitty do it and figured he could do it too. Anyway, I took a picture of how little space there is in between the two fences 'cause I'm still amazed at how he could get through there.

My Day....

So today when I was in the shower Ty suddenly starts screaming and crying. I yelled to Laney to tell what was going on. She told me that Ty fell and hurts his foot. I asked if he was bleeding and if he was okay and she said he was not bleeding and seemed okay. I hurried out of the shower and he had calmed down a little. I figured he was fine since he always gets hurt but is okay. He was walking fine but kept telling me "ow" and pointing to his foot. He wanted me to carry him but he really did walk around.
After his nap, he would not walk at all and kept saying "ow" and whimpering. He sat on the couch for an hour after he woke and just played....which is not like him. Normally he's everywhere. When Ben came home he looked at his foot and looked stuff up on WebMD and finally concluded that he probably stubbed his foot pretty good. Ben wrapped up the toe with the one next to it and now he's limping around. Poor little guy.
We also signed the papers to do a lease to own on a townhouse.....argh! It's a little scary being old and responsible. But now we are just waiting for the lady who owns the house to sign it too and then we'll be moving in to our new place on April 1st. It's all very exciting though.

Antelope Island

Yesterday we went out to Antelope Island to see if we could see some buffalo and other animals. We stopped at the Fielding Garr Farm, which is from 1848, where there was some cool old farm equipment and this old truck that was awesome. I tried to get some pictures of the kids. I love this one of Laney. What a cutie!

Here's Ty looking at the truck. Handsome feller!

Just a cool tree that we found.

So we were walking on the beach and we found at least three separate tracks that looked like this. So we took a picture so we could look up when we came home so what kind of animal it was. We know what it was now. Do you?

We saw at least 20 buffalo pretty close up and we were really excited. We also saw an antelope and a couple of jackrabbits. When we drove over to Fielding Garr Farm we saw hundreds of buffalo up on the mountain side. If you click on the picture you can see a bunch of little black dots....that was only some of them. We couldn't drive any closer and we didn't want to walk because it had started snowing when we were throwing rocks at the beach. But it looked really cool to see all those buffalo from far away.

Utah Museum of Natural History

Today we went to the Utah Museum of Natural History because every first Monday of the month it's free. The kids had a great time. Laney is digging for dinosaur bones...
...while Ty was throwing the sand around.
They had different kinds of rocks, animals that live in Utah, and dinosaurs that have been found in Utah. They had a 3D map and when you put the glasses on you could see the mountains pop out at you. Laney and Ty loved it so much that Ty threw a fit when he had to put the glasses back.
Laney took this picture of the skull of a T-rex.
Laney's big cheeser in front of the deer.

Herding Cows Through Morgan

We went for a drive up to Morgan, Utah a couple of Saturdays ago because we knew they were hiring a pharmacist up there. We were driving around and suddenly two cars stopped in front of us and then turned around. Then we saw it....there were several cowboys on horses and hundreds of cows just walking down state street. It was awesome. We sat there for several minutes and waited and just watched.

Sorry the picture is kind of bad because I had to take the picture through the window.

Happy Valentine's Day

Laney had to bring Valentines for everybody in her little pre-school....33 kids!!! So we did cute little butterfly valentines and the kids had to write their own name on them. I thought Laney would write about 3 and then get sick of it. But she did around 20 of them in one sitting and then I made her take a break. Later that day she did the rest of them. I was so proud of her. What a big girl. Here she is with her loot from Valentine's Day.

Of course I had to give Ty some little Valentine treats so he didn't feel left out.

Slobbery boy!!!

Put Them in the Dryer...

Laney and Ty love to play with water. They would wash the dishes several times a day if it was up to them. The only problem is that Ty gets really wet and we have to change his shirt and onesie every time....

...so I decided to put him in the dryer instead...

...of course Laney wanted to get in there as well.

Playing in the Snow

This was after one of the snowstorms, Laney and Ty wanted to go out and play. They played for a while and then Ty walked over to the fence, plopped down and started eating the snow….Laney told him to only eat the clean snow. Well, when Ty sits down in the snow he can’t get back up and he won’t wear gloves so I had to tiptoe out in the snow and help the feller back up. Laney tried but he was just to heavy she said.

After they came back inside, they cuddled up and watched a movie with they blankets and pillows. I was doing something else and suddenly I noticed that it was really quite. This is how I found them.

An Apple A Day....

I was making dinner last night and Ty was sitting by me. Suddenly I realized that Ty had taken one bite out of every apple. This was his fourth apple and I thought he was done.....
...then I realized he found the fifth and last apple....naughty thing!!!

Random Pictures

Somebody thought it would be funny to pile all the shoveled snow right in front of our little entryway so that it was hard to get in or out.

Laney started Pre-school after we got back from Germany. This is her, on her first day of school. Cute little chicken!!

When Mike was in the hospital we were so lucky that we got to play with Braiden one day. He's the cutest little feller. We loved having him here. This was after everybody took a nap. Ty gets really grumpy after he wakes up and so I have to put a movie on most of the time. So here they all are watching "Cars" and eating crackers.
