Thursday we went to Andernach where the worlds highest cold water geyser is. They had a museum that explains all about geysers. It was very hands on and the kids loved it.
After the museum we took a boat out to the geyser. Zak liked the boat ride.
Right on schedule.
Ty in front of the geyser.
Laney in front of the geyser.
Zakerooni in front of the geyser.
After the geyser had calmed down a little a guy walked over there and got a bucket of the water that people could taste. They also let people walk closer to the geyser. Ty and Laney inched closer and closer to the geyser and they got pretty close. I stayed back to keep Nyah from showering in the geyser and to worry about Ty sliding down the rocks and ending up in the pool of water at the bottom.
Ty, Laney and Zak pondering on the boat ride back.
Nyah pondering how to get to the water on the boat ride back.
Ben happy to be on vacation.
The beautiful view from the boat.
The kids posing on part of the old city wall.
Driving through Andernach.
Afterwards we were going to go to a museum about vulcanos but because of some misunderstandings and what not, we got the museum and thought we were looking for a different one, drove to the different one and then realized that the first one was the right one, but by then it was too late. So we went for a nice walk.
After our little walk we went back home but first we stopped at Eltz castle. My parents had to find a gas station first and so we got to the castle first. Ben ran ahead with the big kids to see if it was the right place. He called right when my parents got there and told us that they were at the castle and that you had to walk on a little dirt path through the forest for a little over a kilometer. The connection was kinda bad and so I couldn't figure out if Ben had said that I should put Nyah in the stroller and it wouldn't be a problem or just to leave the stroller. Anyway, I brought it. I probably should have left it because of all the rocks and roots all over the trail. I was really happy to walk with my parents and Zak who helped me hold Nyah and lifting the stroller over stuff. Anyway, when we turned the last corner we saw the castle and it was beautiful. Unfortunately they were fixing some stuff on it and part of it was wrapped in plastic and cranes and stuff were around. It was still gorgeous though. As we walked closer we came across these two little guards guarding the castle.
I love old wood!! :D

I want this door at my house!
When we ready to go back to the car there was a bus leaving at the same time so my mom caught a ride back and was nice enough to take Nyah with her. The rest of us decided to see if the road the bus took was better. It might have been faster but it sure was steep. Props to the guy who passed us jogging up the steep hill. Some day that'll be me!! :D Fun uncle Zak was nice enough to give the kids rides on his shoulders. Thanks Zak.
On the way back to the summer house we also passed this castle.
